Free radicals or reactive oxygen species (ROS) have been implicated to the pathogenesis of various human diseases...Read more...
The research involving magnetic nanoparticles was initially fuelled by the patented magnetic photocatalyst developed by the group in 1999...Read more...
The project revolves around the preparation of gold coated magnetite nanoparticles with the ability to detect and capture relevant biomedical and environmental analytes...Read more...
A recent development in cancer diagnostic is the combination of imaging modalities, otherwise known as multi-modal imaging. ..Read more...
Rare earth metallic oxide nanoparticles made from cerium oxide, called nanoceria, are of interest due to their ability to react catalytically with oxygen free radicals providing anti-oxidant properties...Read more...
Many consumer products contain nanosilver because of its antimicrobial activity. However, nanosilver can cause some bacteria to rapidly adapt and flourish. The aim of this research is to investigate the origins of induced antimicrobial resistance to nanosilver. The generated information is transferrable to the fundamental elucidation of the potential cell acquired resistance across the broader range of nanomaterials beyond nanosilver. The knowledge is vital for the protection and well-being of the international community and the environment. The expected outcomes of this research are the information of cytotoxicity origin of nanosilver and mechanism of cell defence to toxicity...Read more ...
