How to enhance catalytic oxidation capacity of Pt/TiO2 photocatalyst ?
This newly published articles highlight the effect of light pre-treatment of Pt/TiO2 and how it enhances its catalytic oxidation capacity for formic acid degradation. It is also reported that the improved activity decays gradually with time – over the order of hours and the enhancement can be fully recovered upon re-illumination. From the study, authors also reported that the Pt deposits are partially oxidised during the reaction and the photogenerated electrons are captured and held by O2 adsorbed on the Pt deposits
