Project tile: Modelling and economic analysis of Power-to-X pathways for closing the carbon loop
This project aims to support the commercial emergence of an Australian hydrogen/clean energy utilization and export industry through process and techno-economic modelling of Power to X process technologies. This includes power generation, hydrogen generation, carbon capture, and a range of conversion technologies for the generation of useful chemical energy carriers. Focusing particularly on the scale up of conversion pathways utilizing captured carbon dioxide such as green methanol, green methane, and synthetic fuels. These studies in addition to life cycle assessments aim to determine the technical and economic viability of the Power to X pathways while also considering their environmental benefit or impact.
