Congratulations to Helena Yuan Wang for receiving the 2017 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad. This Award was established by China Scholarship Council in 2003 and is one of the highest award given by the Chinese Government to graduate students that study outside China and do not receive any financial support from Chinese Government. To date, a total of 5915 outstanding Chinese students have received this Award. 500 students are awarded yearly and considering that half a million Chinese students leaving China to study abroad, this Award is highly prestigious and competitive. Ms Helena Yuan Wang is one of 50 students in Australia receiving the Award for 2017. Currently Ms Yuan Wang is doing research exchange at the Fritz Haber Institute Max Plank in Berlin. Her PhD project is to develop an effective strategy to synthesis three dimensionally ordered macro-mesoporous perovskite catalyst for methane oxidation, and supervised by Prof Rose Amal, Dr Jason Scott and Dr Hamid Arandiyan (Sydney University).
