Frontispiece Inside Cover of J. Materials Chemistry A

An article produced by PARTCAT group on (corresponding authors: Dr Yun Hau Ng and Prof. Rose Amal) has been selected as Frontispiece Inside Cover for the Journal of Materials Chemistry A.

One of the great challenges associated with the use of photoactive thin film made from nanotubes and nanorod oxides is to achieve homogenous coating from the top to bottom of the one-dimensional nanostructures. The article demonstrated the use of pulsing electrodeposition technique as an effective tool to regulate the uniform coating of ZnO nanorod arrays with visible light active CuInS2 nanoparticles. The frequency tuning has demonstrated its effectiveness in balancing the diffusion and deposition of the CuInS2 on the ZnO substrate. The high-quality heterojunction between CuInS2 and ZnO2 together with its intimate interaction facilitated efficient charge shuttling from CuInS2 to ZnO to yield four-fold visible light response compared with the traditionally made CuInS2-ZnO nanostructures.  Read more: J.
