Fenglong Wang, a PhD candidate in the School of Chemical Engineering in PARTCAT laboratory, is a recipient of the Young Scientist Award at the EMRS Spring meeting 2015 in France for his outstanding paper on Materials for Applications in Water Treatment and Water Splitting.

Fenglong, a high achieving student also received the Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Students Abroad.

"The Chinese Government Award for outstanding students abroad” celebrates the achievements of non-Chinese-government funded Chinese PhD students from different disciplines in 29 countries, including America, UK, German, Japan, Austrialia and Canada. Only those with outstanding performance in their PhD studies are considered by the award selection panel and no more than 500 young talents are granted the award each year all over the world. The aim of this Awards is to encourage outstanding young Chinese researchers to return to China after the completion of their professional training abroad. The China Scholarship Council and corresponding Chinese embassy will provide support when the award recipient starts a career back in China. The prize awarding ceremony will be held sometime this month, presented by the Vice-consul Education Office Consulate-General of China in Sydney.
