Project summary
My research is all about finding smarter ways to deal with greenhouse gases using better catalysts and a little help from sunlight. I work mainly with perovskite materials, exploring how changes in their composition and structure can completely shift the way they behave during reactions. I’m particularly interested in how sunlight can be used alongside traditionally thermal catalytic processes to make greenhouse gas conversion and abatement more efficient.
The reactions I study range from converting CO2 into useful fuels and chemical feedstocks to removing dilute methane emissions. Across these systems, I look at how catalyst design controls activity, selectivity and stability, and whether light can provide a practical way to reduce the energy demands of high-temperature processes. Ultimately, I hope my research will help turn greenhouse gases from a problem into something we can either remove more effectively or use as a valuable resource.
