Ming Zhang

Ming’s research project focuses on the innovative design of MOFs-based electrocatalysts for CO2 reduction and nitrate reduction to ammonia, pivotal reactions in addressing environmental and energy challenges. By employing techniques of surface engineering such as doping, the catalytic activity, efficiency and product selectivity are expected to be enhanced. The project encompasses a thorough investigation of how modifications in MOF-based catalysts influence the electrochemical pathways, providing insights into optimizing the reactions for industrial applications. Preliminary results indicate a promising increase in performance, suggesting the potential scalability of these modified MOFs for practical use in sustainable energy conversion and environmental remediation.
