Two-Dimensional Porous Carbon: Synthesis and Ion-Transport Properties

Comparing with the traditional porous carbons, two dimensional porous carbon (TDPC) sheets with interlinked hierarchical porous structure are ideal structures due to their advantages in high aspect ratio for electrode packing and electron transport, hierarchical pore structures for ion transport and short ion diffusion length. This Research News highlights the recent progress on the synthesis of TDPC and their improved electrochemical behavior due to the enhanced ion transport. The challenges for the controlled preparation of TDPC and their applications are also discussed, which require the precise control of the hierarchical structure and the clarification of the formation mechanisms.
