Congratulations Dr Ruopian Fang - the JPhysEnergy's Emerging Leader 2020 winner

Congratulations to Sophie (Dr Ruopian Fang), the winner of 2020 JPhysEnergy's Emerging Leader by IOP Science. Prior to joining UNSW as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2018, Sophie completed her PhD degree in Materials Science from the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In this latest article published in Advanced Energy Materials, our researchers - Dr Daiyan and Dr Lovell reported how the defective ZnO catalysts derived from Flame Spray Pyrolysis (FSP) technique are used for concurrent generation of H2 and CO during electrochemical CO2 reduction reactions (CO2RR).

Nature Communication Editors' Highlights

In this newly published article, we investigate the effect of electronic excitations on photothermal catalytic CO2 hydrogenation over a Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 (CZA) catalyst by probing the surface to explore light-triggered surface reactions via X-ray spectroscopies and in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS).
